So you want to setup your home page, to a cool site that you love. Okey! It’s easy and here is how you do it…
Now, you almost there… Just click on the Current button (if your on the great page that you love) and this will become your homepage. I use Tacoma.com, because I love the “Dad’s Jokes”, the local news feeds, and the weather and traffic reports etc, and so that is all there is to it..!!

My first Skype text message today, with Cousin Hap, who lives in Tacoma, Washington. He has been taking care of my cat, Sugar, while I’m traveling. Sugar is a wild cat that wondered down from the mountain one day, and has lived around the farm for a few years….
Anyway, Since I have been traveling, (up in Bhutan now), I have really learned to LOVE Skype, I can talk for free to my friends and family, and I love the instant messaging, and with Skype it is all free!!
Here is how we used it today (actual trascript..)

Hey Dad,
I wanted to get Mom her mothers day present, but since I am traveling, now up here in Bhutan, I thought I would try Tacoma.Com’s Shopping Mall page..…
Wow, what a joy!!
First I popped into the flower shop and got Mom this amazing arrangement,
Then, you know how Mom loves Reader’s Digest, so I grabbed a subscription from :
Now, I was about done shopping, never left the Computer!! Then I realized this was the chance to get on my Mother in Law’s good side too, (I forgot about her last year), so I stopped over here:
and got her a fruit cake (can’t find that old one she gave me last year, so she get’s a new one!)
Then, to be sure she knows how much I love her, I went to 
Petsmart and got her a pet Snake (Boa constrictor)..
still sold out of the big scorpions I’ve been looking for..…

Spring Cleaning For Your Computer Hardware

It’s spring cleaning time! Here is how clean your PC..
CLEAN THE HARDWARE
Computer, monitors and keyboards do get dirty, (especially if there is a smoker in the house) First, use a cloth and remove the dust. Use multi-purpose cleaner to the wipe the surface.
I use glass cleaner on my monitor, but, don’t spray it on the screen, spray it on a cloth first.
Now, flip your keyboard over and shake it abit - to remove the crumbs and dust; or, you can vaccum it. If you want a spotless keyboard, use Qtips, dipped in alcohol to clean between the keys.
Also, checkout the bottom of your mouse. If it’s an optical, clean off whatever dirt has build-up with a Qtip. If it’s a ball, open it up and wipe the ball and the slot.
Do vaccum the ventilation slots for your case too, especially the the fan on back. All kinds of dust accumulates there. To clean the inside of your computer, use a compressed air spray can and blow the dust out. This can be messy, so you watch out.

If your bored, and have Windows XP, you can change your mouse pointer.
The animated ones are fun!!
Open Control Panel, then open the Mouse applet.
Sselect the Pointers tab.
There is a dropdown list of all the schemes there.
Check out the mouse pointers!! Not all are animated, but click on the one you like.

I love this site…
This is a SUPER COOL free Flash application that allows you to plan the layout of your rooms. You can move the furniture around with your computer, and plan ahead. There are all the elements for a living room, bedroom, dining room, and more. Pick your room type and style (traditional, contemporary, country), then just drag, drop, resize, or rotate the furniture. It’s really fun. You can even put people in the chairs, and cats on the desk…. You can resize walls, windows, or doorways -making your virtual room befor you ever need to sharpen a pencil. Something new!! If you’re anything like me, you use My Computer alot to see your disks and drives. Here is a tip to make finding things a lot faster!
By Default, if you go to Start and My Computer, you only have a shortcut to My Computer. Here is how you can make MyComputer appear as a menu, when you mouse over it in you Start menu.
First, Right click on Start, and go to Properties. Click on Customize, and open the Advanced tab. In the scrolling list, find My Computer and check the circle that says “Display as a menu.” The Click OK. Yippie!!
Last, Don’t forget to click Apply as you exit.
Now, Just click Start, and move your mouse over My Computer. Wow! Isn’t that better?
